You can see how each fate effects the game on the left hand side while you have a fate selected. Each fate changes some of the rules of gameplay. The Warlord is Hard Mode which is exactly what it sounds like. Most achievements can not be unlocked while playing as the Apprentice. The Apprentice is is Easy Mode which acts like a tutorial. The Adventurer is the default fate that we used while playing through Story Mode. If you do not have the DLC there will be 3 fates available to you. Upon selecting Endless Mode from the main menu you will be taken to a screen where you can change your fate. The other thing that happens when you change floors is The Dealer adds new monster cards to the monster deck increasing your chance at drawing stronger monster cards. It wont happen on the earlier floors but once you start getting down to floors in the teens you will be begin to see repeats. That means you can see the same encounter cards multiple times in a single playthrough. Also when you change floors the encounter cards on the previous floor will be added back into your deck. This card can be a curse, loss of health, loss of gold, loss of equipment, or make enemies or traps stronger. Each time you change levels the dealer will play Dealers Spite which causes you to draw a card. Instead all of the equipment and encounter cards you have unlocked will be automatically put into your deck.
In endless mode you do not edit your Equipment or Encounter decks. If you don't have the DLC then just proceed as normal.Įndless mode is plays just like story mode with a couple of exceptions. That way you can work on different fate achievements while simultaneously working on these. If you have purchased the Wildcards DLC then I suggest checking the DLC walkthrough page out. You will be playing through both Endless Mode and Story Mode for the remainder of the achievements.
